About

My name is Melissa and I am a Senior at the University of Florida. I hope to soon work in the Advertising world. Creativity excites me like few other things do. I have a passion for dancing. Music is a huge part of my life and I love and can appreciate all kinds. I love to laugh until I cry. I have a wonderful family who love me and support me in everything that I do. I like organization and I like to be in charge. I don’t like when I’m not good at something. When I set my mind to something, I do everything I can to make it happen. I have a tendency to be overly considerate of other people. I’m observative almost to a fault. I’m extremely perceptive. I’m a visual learner. I love photography and would one day like to take it up as a hobby. My faith is important to me and I believe everything happens for a reason. My life is a series of changes and constant adaptations. I had to learn to be resilient at a very young age. I am sad to have to graduate college but I feel as though life is an adventure and am excited for what is yet to come.

This project is a development process that has encouraged me to think and explore new realms of both literary and personal depth. This blog functions as a learning screen through which we are expressing our own experiences and feelings toward pieces of E-Literature with the guidance and framework of Italo Calvino’s Six Memos for the New Millennium. There are five different categories, one for each of his completed memos: Lightness, Quickness, Exactitude, Visibility and Multiplicity. Within each category will be five posts including one for an explanation and definition of how Calvino describes the quality; one for a piece of E-Literature that I personally feel exemplifies the quality; one that functions to explain the meaning of the E-Lit example through an element of graphic design; one that explains an analogy I feel represents and justifies the connection between the piece of E-Lit and the quality; and finally, one that is an emblem for the quality and its representative piece of E-Lit.

I hope that this composition provides an expression, narration and summation of my interpretations of Calvino’s five memos in such a way that later students and other readers will be inspired to express their own feelings and experiences around these qualities that Calvino has challenged us to embrace.
